I walked into the hotel gym at 4:44 a.m.
Right on my heels was an older guy.
It didn’t appear fitness had been a major part of his life.
He was in a hurry.
He knew exactly what he was doing today.
He set up and flew through exercise after exercise.
He left the gym at 5:00 a.m.
16 minutes…
I say, "Hell, yeah!"
I don’t know his story. Maybe he has an early flight or meeting.
Maybe that’s his routine every day.
16 minutes…
"Why even bother?" some would say.
What he did is exactly what it takes.
It’s true that a lot of success has to do with "putting in the work."
But it also has a lot to do with momentum.
If you’ve got 16 minutes today, do 16 minutes.
If you’ve got 60 minutes tomorrow, do 60 minutes.
Avoiding the work altogether because it’s not what it should be is kryptonite.
The ability manufacture small wins and string them together is a superpower.
He had 16 minutes and that’s all he needed.
try harder,
JM
