Edition #002: 🍳 Better SEO? Cook Up Business TOFU, a Travel Workout, and The Try Harder Champion

Hey Risers,

Welcome to EDITION 002 of the TRY HARDER Newsletter.

SEO is annoying but can have a massive impact on your business. Why is it annoying? Well, SEO is like working out… the results only come if you do it regularly (weekly) for a long time (years). It’s the definition of SIMPLE, NOT EASY. I’ll cover a strategy I’ve used over the years you can quickly implement. After that, you can dive into my favorite travel workout and learn why Thomas Edison is the TRY HARDER Champion.

Give it a read. Then, give me a reply and let me know what you think.

Let’s dive in!

Building the Business: Cooking Up Business TOFU for Better SEO

What is TOFU?

TOFU = TOp of FUnnel 🔝.

It’s the type of informational content you create to build an audience. Remember, I said, build an audience and not drive revenue. We will talk about the type of content that drives revenue another time.

Example: How to (INSERT PAIN POINT)

  • How to heal the spleen naturally
  • How to stop period cramps
  • How to lower high blood pressure

It answers all the questions❓about your product or service. You need this content to get discovered, drive traffic, and build an audience.

Another example: What is (INDUSTRY TERM)

  • What is chiropractic care
  • What is concurrent training
  • What is equestrian physical therapy

To make your website a true brand with raving fans, you need to be a teacher and build an audience around the problems you help people solve.

Takeaways:

  • How do you help solve people’s problems? Create TOFU content answering that question with a “how-to” guide and “what-is” explanation posts.

Building the Human:

Super Simple Travel Workout

Working out on the road 🚙 can be a challenge. Maybe your hotel doesn’t have a gym, maybe you can’t go for a run, or maybe you want something simple and quick to knock out in your hotel room.

Here’s one of my go-to travel workouts…

Push and Squat

First, select a push movement. I recommend push-ups for most and handstand push-ups for the advanced.

Second, pick several reps 🔢 that would be a ‘good’ workout. Let’s call it 100 reps.

Third, do as many reps as you can of the pushing movement. Every time you stop 🛑, you have to do 10-20 squats (10 reps for beginner, 15 for intermediate, and 20 reps for advanced).

That’s it! You’ll end up with a solid and simple workout that can be done quickly and anywhere.

The Try Harder Champion (Thomas Edison)

What do you know about Thomas Edison?

Light bulbs…💡? C’mon… read a book 📖.

Well, Thomas Edison is the Try Harder Champion. One of his most famous quotes highlights this, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

The dude legitimately failed 10,000+ times; however, his work on the electric light bulb, phonograph, and motion picture camera transformed the world.

He even tried harder with attitude. When he was 67, his entire lab burst into flame 🔥, and his life’s work went with it. His reaction? He shouted to his son, “Where’s Mom!? Go get her! Tell her to get her friends! They’ll never see a fire like this again!” Lastly, he was no slouch as an entrepreneur. His approach to innovation was deeply intertwined with a keen sense of business, making him one of the first inventors to apply the principles of mass production to the invention process.

Takeaway?

  • Try Harder in EVERYTHING (effort, attitude, and business!)
