Building the Business:
Why you don’t want to be an influencer 🤳🏻
I saw a recent survey of 5,920 influencers, and the average monthly income was $323.19 😳.
We aren’t talking tiny followings either… If the influencer had between 100,000 followers and 999,999 followers, the average monthly income was $1,727.29 🤮.
What about users that had over 1,000,000 followers? Well, their average income was better but still averaged out to $6,109.83 a month 🤔.
Look, 59% of social media posts have ZERO engagement. Don’t add to the noise. Instead, use it strategically in your business.
Two ways to use social media to help your business:
Way #1 – Educational Content for more potential followers.
Way #2 – Experiential Content for building culture and loyal customers.
Way #1 + Way #2 = Strategy.
Takeaways:
Work on Building a Business, not a viral video.
Social media assists your efforts; it shouldn’t be THE EFFORT.
Implement a social media strategy (see above).
Building the Human:
2 Reasons to Munch on Garlic 🧄
I started smashing and swallowing whole garlic cloves in 2014 because I heard it could help you avoid the common cold 🤧. I lost the habit somewhere, but I think I will pick it back up!
Why?
Reason #1 – In 2009, Researchers studied the inhibitory (cancer-stopping) effects of 34 vegetable extracts on 8 different tumor cell lines 🧫. The #1 most powerful anti-cancer food was garlic 🧄.
Reason #2 – In 2017, mice 🐁 were injected with breast cancer cells, and most of them got cancer… Surprisingly, after just 14 days of treatment with either lemon or garlic extract, the tumors shrunk by an average of 80%, and 60% of the mice were completely cancer-free. Meanwhile, the control group of mice not given either extract had an increase in tumor size of 566%. Tumors shrunk by an average of 91% and completely disappeared in 80% of the mice treated with BOTH lemon 🍋 and garlic extracts!
Pro-tip: Smash & wait 🔪. You read that right. Give your garlic a smash, then let it chill out for 10-20 minutes. This wait time isn’t just for suspense; it’s when garlic cloves turn into little health-boosting superheroes, pumping out allicin, their anti-cancer compound. It’s the ultimate ‘let it sit and forget’ kitchen hack that could just save your life.
Try Harder:
Thinking Outside the Box like John D. Rockefeller
This week’s dose of TRY HARDER…
When people think of John D. Rockefeller they think of a rich dude🤑. If you know more than an average human, you think rich dude from oil 🛢️.
Well, it’s not widely known that John D. Rockefeller had to TRY HARDER to win the game. Back in the day, the oil industry had fierce competition, was extremely volatile, was rife with inefficiencies and cutthroat business practices.
He realized he couldn’t play the game and win… He had to change the game.
Instead of trying to one-up the competition, he went a different route. He went for the refineries, and thus the production flow. Rockefeller went on a shopping spree, scooping up refineries left and right, becoming the big boss of the oil world and achieved complete market domination🕴🏻.
Takeaway?
THINK BIGGER 🧠. TRY HARDER. Sometimes, to make an omelet, you’ve got to crack a few eggs… and maybe buy the chicken farm too 🐣.
*P.S. – Why am I calling you a “Riser”? – A Riser is improving and moving up in life, whether it’s personal growth or career success. It’s about getting better and showing promise. Its also in one of my favorite songs of all time by Zach Bryan.
