I’ve been coaching people on email marketing and content strategy for years. And one of the most common pushbacks I get sounds something like this:
“Jerred, email newsletters are old school. I should be focusing on TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube, right?”
I get it. Everyone wants to chase the new shiny platform. But I’ll say this: nothing has multiplied my impact (or income) more than consistently writing a weekly newsletter. And if you’re serious about content marketing, it should be your keystone habit too.
Let me walk you through the exact framework I use to turn one newsletter into more than 30 pieces of content per week—all without burning out or starting from scratch every day.
Why the Newsletter Is Still King
We’ve talked about the ROI of email marketing before—how for every $1 spent, you can expect a $36 return. But let’s forget the financials for a minute.
At its core, writing a newsletter forces you to do something powerful: think deeply and communicate clearly.
And that clarity pays off. Because great content on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or a podcast? It all starts with one thing: a script. And guess what looks an awful lot like a script? That’s right—your newsletter.
The Content Multiplier Framework
Here’s the framework I’ve implemented across multiple brands to supercharge our content marketing output while reducing the time it takes to create.
Step 1: Write the Newsletter
This is the cornerstone. One email per week. 400 to 1000 words max. Pure value. A story, a framework, a lesson, a tip—something that helps your audience.
And if you get this part right, the rest is easy.
Step 2: Turn It into a YouTube Video
Just hit record. Read your newsletter out loud, or riff on it with a bit more personality. Either way, the heavy lifting is already done.
Step 3: Extract a Podcast Episode
Take the audio from your video. Boom. Podcast content. Simple.
Step 4: Clip the Video into Reels and Shorts
Break your video into 3–5 short clips. Now you’re publishing on:
- YouTube Shorts
- Instagram Reels
- TikTok
That’s triple exposure from one video.
Step 5: Write Daily Tweets (X Posts)
Your newsletter probably includes at least 10 ideas or insights. Use them for two short posts per day on X (formerly Twitter). Schedule them out.
Step 6: Reuse for Stories and Carousels
Take your newsletter headline or quote, repurpose it as an Instagram story or carousel. You can stretch this across an entire week.
Altogether? One newsletter can lead to:
- 1 YouTube video
- 1 podcast episode
- 5 short-form clips
- 14 X posts
- Multiple Instagram stories
- A few carousels or swipe posts
That’s over 30 pieces of content from one weekly habit.
AI Can Help—but Don’t Outsource Your Brain
You can use ChatGPT to help with formatting or ideation, but don’t let it generate the core idea for your newsletter. Your audience wants to hear from you—your experiences, your voice, your perspective.
That said, once your newsletter is written, AI can:
- Turn it into a YouTube script
- Extract short quotes for tweets
- Suggest titles or hooks
- Help with formatting and SEO
But remember: you write, then AI assists. Not the other way around.
Why This System Works
You don’t need a big team or massive audience. You just need a repeatable process—and the self-discipline to execute it consistently.
This is content marketing done right: one core idea that gets repurposed intelligently across every platform. It’s not about volume. It’s about leverage.
So my challenge to you is this:
Write one newsletter this week. Just one. Then reuse it. Repost it. Repurpose it. Let that one idea work harder for you than 10 one-off posts ever could.
And if you want my help? I have a free email course called Write Your Newsletter, Grow Your Brand. You can find the link in the YouTube description or podcast show notes. I’d love to help you get started.
Try harder. Live bigger.
