226: How to STOP Failing at Consistency (2 Simple Ways)

The Real Secret to Consistency (and Why Most People Get It Wrong)
When it comes down to it, you’re either someone who does what they say they’ll do… or you’re not. There really is no in-between.
I’ve built my life—my fitness, my businesses, my marriage, even my friendships—on the back of one superpower: consistency. And trust me, it wasn’t something I was born with. It’s something I built brick by brick.
I want to break down exactly how I’ve maintained consistency for over two decades in fitness, a decade and a half as an entrepreneur, and as a husband and father. If you master consistency, you’ll be unstoppable. If you don’t, well… you’ll always wonder why your big goals keep slipping away.
Let’s get into it.
Why Going Small is the Key to Consistency
Everyone loves to set big goals. The problem? You haven’t earned big goals yet. Big goals aren’t accomplished in giant leaps. They’re the result of stacking a thousand tiny micro-wins on top of each other.
Want to know how to finally be consistent? Go as small as humanly possible.
In Social Media
I can’t tell you how many people I talk to who can’t even post on social media once a week. They overcomplicate it—spending 25 minutes picking a topic, an hour writing it, 15 minutes posting, and then checking back 47 times to see who liked it.
You want to be consistent? Start by posting once a week. That’s it. Make it so stupidly small there’s no way you can fail. Once you’ve proven to yourself you can do that, then level up.
In Fitness
You’re not the person who can work out six days a week. Sorry. If you were, you’d already be doing it.
You have to start with the reality of who you are. If that means two 15-minute workouts per week, so be it. Once you nail that, then you earn the right to do more.
In Business & Money
Everyone wants to make $10K a month online. How about you start by making $100? Make it your sole mission. Read books, take action, figure out what it takes to get that first $100. Then repeat. That’s how you build real consistency—and ultimately scale.
Turn Everything Into a System
Once you’ve proven to yourself you can take action in small doses, it’s time to build systems so you can stay consistent.
With Content
If I didn’t have systems for my content, there’s no way I could keep up. I’ve built a process so once I record a video or podcast, my team knows exactly what to do—edit, post, distribute.
If you don’t have a team yet, build tiny systems for yourself. Leave your camera set up so there’s no friction. Put your post-day on your calendar. Make it automatic.
With Fitness
Remove your brain from the process. Put your workouts on your calendar at the same time every day. Use an app or follow a program so you’re not stuck wondering what to do—you just show up and execute.
With Money
Once you’ve figured out how to make $100, turn it into a repeatable system. If that means getting X subscribers, sending Y emails, and making Z offers, document it. Now you know exactly what effort equals results—and you can scale it up.
The Bottom Line About Consistency
Stop pretending you’re someone you’re not. If you haven’t been consistent in fitness or business, accept it—and build from where you are.
Go small. Build systems. Stack tiny wins. Over time, you’ll become the person who’s consistent. You’ll build your skyscraper one brick at a time.
And as always, you’re going to have to try harder.
