228: The Real Reason You Can’t Focus for More Than 20 Minutes

The 1330: My Secret Weapon for Entrepreneur Strategy and Focus

If you’re struggling to stay focused as an entrepreneur, I’m going to be brutally honest with you: either your plan sucks, or your goals do. There’s no third option. But instead of staying stuck or spinning your wheels, I want to give you something that’s helped me scale multiple companies and coach thousands of entrepreneurs.

It’s a simple framework I call the 1330—and it’s hands down the most powerful entrepreneur strategy I’ve ever used. It helps you get clear, stay focused, and most importantly, know what to do next every single day.

If you want to download the free 1330 template, I’ve dropped the link in the show description. You’ll want it handy.

Let me break it down.

What Is the 1330?

It stands for:

  • 1 Goal

  • 3 Strategies

  • 3 Tactics per Strategy

  • 0 Excuses

You’re going to take one sheet of paper and fill out two halves:

  • The top half is for your quarterly plan.

  • The bottom half is for your monthly execution.

Simple. Powerful. Focused.

Step 1: Set One Quarterly Goal

Pick a single, clear goal for the quarter. I usually push entrepreneurs to use a revenue and profit target—for example: “Earn $100,000 with 50% profit.”

But if that’s not your focus right now, that’s fine. It could be something like growing your email list or launching a new product. The key is clarity.

Step 2: Three SMART Strategies

Under that one goal, create three supporting strategies that follow the SMART model—Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-bound.

If your quarterly goal is to earn $100k, a strategy might be: “Increase qualified leads by 5%.”

That’s specific. It’s measurable. It’s realistic. That’s how you win.

Step 3: Tactics Under Each Strategy

Now, for each strategy, you’ll write three tactics—actions that support the strategy.

So if your strategy is to increase leads by 5%, your tactics might be:

  • Launch a new Facebook Ads campaign.

  • Optimize your lead magnet.

  • Run a referral contest.

Each tactic is a lever. And when these levers move together, they push the strategy forward—which pushes the goal forward.

Monthly Execution

Next, we break down the monthly view. You’ll select one tactic from each of your three strategies. Those become your three business goals for the month.

Then you delegate them—who’s responsible, and when is it due?

That clarity creates momentum.

Weekly Planning

Now comes the weekly breakdown.

Only plan one week at a time. This is critical. If you try to map the entire month, life will get in the way. One missed task, and the whole plan crumbles.

So ask yourself: what do I need to do this week to move toward each monthly goal? That’s your weekly plan.

Don’t Forget Personal Goals

On the personal side, we set three process goals—not outcome goals.

Don’t write “be a better parent.” Instead, write “go on one date night with my spouse every week” or “train five times per week.”

These goals must be trackable and actionable. That’s what keeps you honest and consistent.

Entrepreneur Strategy Isn’t About Hustle—It’s About Precision

The reason most people fail to stay focused isn’t because they lack discipline. It’s because they lack a real entrepreneur strategy. A system.

The 1330 is that system.

And here’s the truth: even if you only execute 30% of it, you’ll be so far ahead of the average entrepreneur who’s just winging it.

Go small. Start simple. Nail the execution. Then scale.

Let the 1330 be the framework that guides your goals, your business, and your life.

And if you want to stay focused, there are zero excuses.
