defined in fragments

try harder

I can’t tell you exactly what I want.

it’s not a car, a house, or financial freedom. not impact, income, or a lasting legacy.

do you know what you want? your dream? your paradise?

have you defined it?

the best I have are fragments. fragments from artists who seem to know:

Zach Bryan on wanting: “…A well-trained dog on a couple of acres A kind, kind lady and a place to take her Few good friends I can count on one of my hands…”

Tolstoy on happiness: ”…A quiet secluded life in the country, with the possibility of being useful to people to whom it is easy to do good, and who are not accustomed to have it done to them; then work which one hopes may be of some use; then rest, nature, books, music, love for one’s neighbor…”

Johnny Cash on paradise: “Morning, with her. Having coffee.”

in five words, Johnny defined what I want better than any vision board ever could.

the more I think about it, the more I realize…

most of what I want, I already have. but if I get too busy chasing, I forget to see it.

what do you want?

try harder,

JM
