the power of overdoing it

try harder

When I first started, I thought every other entrepreneur knew something I didn't.

They were more advanced.

They knew systems, numbers, marketing, sales...

What I found out, seven years later, was they didn't know anything.

Most of them weren't good at any part of running a business.

Most of them got lucky and couldn't replicate their success.

But, I didn't know that.

So I overdid it for seven years.

I learned systems, numbers, marketing, sales...

I thought I was catching up.

I was surpassing.

I was planting seeds that would take a long time to grow but once the seeds took root, I leapt over every mentor I had ever looked up to.

I'm not writing this to talk about how awesome I am.

I'm not that awesome.

I still have a lot to learn, but the lesson is in overdoing it.

An incorrect assumption lead to a journey of mastery.

The journey I am still on today.

So if you are going to go for something, go for it.

Swing for the fence.

Become the professional.

Learn more than you have to.

Pursue mastery.

Overdo it.

Try harder,

JM
