just imagine...
you're trying to water your plants.
you've got the hose. you turn the valve.
no water...
chances are the spigot's fine. you've just got a kink.
no fear. I'll teach you how to handle kinks.
step #1 – find the kink.
step #2 – straighten out as much of the hose as you can. step #3 – get the whole family out there to help. step #4 – still stuck? get a new, better hose. step #5 – check for kinks in the new hose.
you now know the Theory of Constraints.
here it is again:
step #1 – find the bottleneck. step #2 – maximize its output with what you’ve got. step #3 – align all people and things to help fix the bottleneck. step #4 – if needed, improve or replace it.
step #5 – repeat.
business growth is simply a cycle of alleviating constraints.
