There’s a Chinese proverb that goes:
“no one who can rise before dawn three hundred sixty days a year fails to make his family rich.”

Some people believe there’s magic in those early hours.
But I don’t think it’s the sunrise that matters.

It’s the discipline.

Waking up early, especially if you hate it, is a daily act of doing something you don’t want to do.
Emerging research on the mid-cingulate cortex (aMCC) suggests that this part of your brain actually grows stronger when you push against your own desires.
So whether it’s getting up at 5 a.m., writing your next blog post, or hitting the gym when you’d rather veg out, the act of forcing yourself forward changes you.

I’ve always said my path to wealth began with fitness, and it had nothing to do with starting a fitness company.
It was about learning discipline.
I learned to put in work when I saw zero results, and keep going anyway.

That same muscle you flex when you haul yourself out of bed at the crack of dawn…
or when you work on your side hustle after a draining 9 to 5…
or when you post content daily (even when you feel “meh”)…
that’s the muscle that transforms you into the person who can build real success.

The truth is, most people can do the work when they feel fired up.
But can you do the work when you don’t want to?
That’s where the real magic happens.

So think about it:

What’s that area where you keep telling yourself “later”?
