boring. brutal. better.

why are you here? (and the biggest lesson i’ve learned in entrepreneurship)

Today, I want to share the biggest lesson I have learned in entrepreneurship.

Hey friend,

Today, I want to share the biggest lesson I have learned in entrepreneurship.

Your business cannot exceed your level of personal growth.
Put another way…to grow your business, you’ll have to improve yourself.

That’s it.

Any time I am stuck in business, I think I need to do more.
New strategies, more effort, double down, more hours… but that has never produced results.

When I focus on building myself into a better human, the business grows.

I’ve tried the 100 hr work weeks, but they never work long term.

You end up burned out, stressed, anxious, and ready to quit.
I know this may be different from some of the “grind your face off” message out there today.

But like I said, this is my biggest lesson, not theory, but what I’ve actually experienced.

For a deep dive on this topic, listen to Episode 039 of my podcast…
“How I 10x’D My Business Through Killing Comfort.”

Real business growth will amaze you. But if you don’t have 56 min, I’ll try to summarize it.

Once you decide to go down a path, and I mean you really want to achieve a goal… your subconscious knows it.

Let’s stop right there. I am not getting woo-woo on you. It’s the truth.

Quick example: You buy a new car. You start to notice that car everywhere. But you never noticed before…

It’s called the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon.

Now, instead of a new car, let’s take YOUR GOAL.

When you get singularly focused on a goal, everything you learn and encounter supports that goal.

If you really let yourself go down this path, you’ll be amazed at what can happen.

Books you never thought to read pop up to solve the problems you have.

You start to hear parts of conversations that can move you in the direction you want to go.

There’s no magic. You are just viewing your life through the lens of your goal, which most people never do.

You start to improve yourself, add to your skillset, and build your body all because you realize it will lead you where you want to go.

For instance, you are reading this email… but why?

Why have our paths crossed? I am not talking about fate or destiny.

But you are here for some reason and I think I can help.

Can you reply and let me know why you are here?

Perhaps I can shortcut your path and send you a resource that may just unlock what you are after.

Or… don’t reply and see where that takes you. Hint: it’ll probably take you right where you already are.

Try harder,

JM
