Who Could You Be??
Building the Business:
The SEA Email Marketing Strategy 🌊
Do you want to know some truths about email marketing??
1.) Fully automated email marketing is a relic of the past… You’re kidding yourself if you think you can just set it and forget it.
2.) A once-a-week newsletter isn’t going to transform your business…
Automation works. A newsletter is helpful. BUT it’s putting these things into an overall STRATEGY that really pays off.
So, let’s talk about the SEA Email Marketing Strategy:
(S) segmentation: Stop sending the same bland message to everyone. If a subscriber downloads an ebook on nutrition tips, they probably don’t care about your “life hacks”.
Segment your audience and send them what they actually want.
Personalization isn’t just a buzzword; it’s the key to relevance. Think about it, would you pay attention to an email that has nothing to do with your interests? Of course not.
So why would you expect your audience to do any different? Take the time to understand your subscribers’ preferences, behaviors, and needs. Use that data to craft messages that resonate. It’s not just about getting their attention; it’s about keeping it.
(E) engagement: You’ve got to put in the effort.
Automated emails can’t replace genuine interaction. Write personal emails, follow up, and build real relationships.
It’s not rocket science, but it does take work. Don’t hide behind your keyboard. Get out there and engage with your audience. Reply to their responses, ask for feedback, and make them feel heard. It’s these small, manual touches that build loyalty and trust.
Automation can help you scale, but the personal touch seals the deal. Remember, people buy from people, not faceless entities.
(A) ascension: Give value first. Share free, useful content. Then, when they’re hooked, make your pitch.
You’ll convert subscribers into customers because you’ve built trust and provided real value. Think of it as dating, you wouldn’t propose on the first date, would you?
No, you’d take the time to build a relationship. The same principle applies here. Provide your audience with consistent value so that they’re ready to commit when it’s time to make an offer. Show them you’re not just another company out to make a quick buck; you’re a valuable resource that can solve their problems.
If you’re still relying on outdated, fully automated strategies, it’s time to wake up. Step up your game with targeted, engaging, and valuable content. Your audience will thank you, and your business will grow.
The bottom line is this: email marketing isn’t dead, but the old ways of doing it are. If you want to stand out in a crowded inbox, you’ve got to try harder. Challenge yourself to go beyond the basics. Innovate, experiment, and, most importantly, connect with your audience on a human level. It’s not easy, but nothing worth doing ever is.
Get out there and make it happen!
Takeaways:
- Segment your audience with questions, ebooks, webinars, training, etc.
- Engage your audience after they are segmented. Reply to emails, ask questions, and be a human.
- Ascend people up your value ladder. Solve their problems and make offers!
Building the Human:
Morning Routines ⏰
Morning routines have gone from “all the rage” to successful people saying they are grossly unnecessary with statements like, “I drink coffee and get to work; that’s how you succeed.”
So which is it?
I once was a BIG morning routine guy. Every morning at 4-5 am, up doing my routine. Then I went to being the guy who wakes up, drinks coffee, and gets to work. Now, I am doing morning routines again…
What gives?
As an entrepreneur, I NEEDED that morning routine early on for multiple reasons. I needed to work on the psychological side of being an entrepreneur: dealing with anxiety, building confidence through learning, and mastering myself.
Once I had those skills, I started to feel like no morning routine was necessary.
The most important thing (and what the morning routine naysayers are trying to express) is that…
After my routine, I got to work for 9-10 hours on the things that would actually grow the business. You can’t skip the work and think there is magic to the morning routine.
However, I feel my morning routine was integral to my success as an entrepreneur. I only recently started them back up because it helps me start my day with intention and purpose. Starting the day in a full sprint is a great way to ruin it.
If you are looking to start a morning routine, a great book to learn from is Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod.
In that book, he teaches the S.A.V.E.R.S formula.
Step #1 - wake up earlier than normal.
Step #2 - follow S.A.V.E.R.S
Silence (meditation/breathing practice)
Affirmations
Visualizations
Exercise
Reading
Scribe (journaling)
You can do something as simple as 5 minutes in each one for a total of a 30-minute morning routine.
What about you? Do you practice a morning routine?
Takeaways:
- Know there is no magic to a morning routine
- A morning routine is a time for you to improve! Pick what needs improvement in your life.
- An easy way to start is the S.A.V.E.R.S. formula
Try Harder:
Who You Could Be vs. Who You Are 🧘
Hey, Jerred here.
I’m here to challenge you. To push you.
So, let’s get real for a minute.
Are you living up to your potential or just coasting by? Steven Pressfield’s “Turning Pro” gives us a clear picture of the stark difference between an amateur and a professional. Let’s break it down.
As you read, you tell me which one you are…
Who You Are Now (The Amateur)
You show up, but let’s be honest, not with full commitment. Your days are filled with distractions, social media, endless coffee breaks, anything to avoid the real work. You fear failure, so you dabble in multiple things without mastering any. You’re addicted to comfort, seeking validation from others instead of finding satisfaction in your work. Excuses are your go-to; there’s always a reason why today’s not the day to push harder. You’re reactive, letting life happen to you, and then you wonder why you’re stuck in the same place.
Who You Could Be (The Pro)
Imagine a different you. One who wakes up early, not because you have to, but because you want to. Your day starts with purpose, and you have a dedicated time and space for your craft. You face your fears head-on, understanding that failure is a step towards mastery. Distractions? You’ve eliminated them. You don’t need external validation because you validate yourself by showing up and doing the work, day after day. You plan, you execute, and you review your progress. You’re proactive, making things happen, and continuously striving for excellence.
So, what’s stopping you from turning pro? Fear? Laziness? It’s time to ditch the amateur mindset. Choose to be a professional. Plan your week, stick to your routine, and commit to your craft. Turn pro and transform into who you could be.
Try harder,
JM
